Curling Weekend

We 've been away in Kinross for the weekend for Fiona's NHS curling weekend.
Of course, it being a leap year my mum has me warned that the traditional tables may be turned.
Initially I scoffed but when we arrived at the hotel and I found out we had been booked into the Honeymoon suite I became a bit nervous.
I have to admit though, it was the biggest hotel room I have ever been in, and the biggest bed I have seen that has not been in a Historic Scotland restoration of a medieval castle.
Friday evening started with drinks in the bar, followed by a meal across the road in the other hotel. A small mix up with Fiona's new phone (after handing her phone to someone to read a message they wrote a cheeky reply but didn't send it. As Fiona tried to delete it I misunderstood and thought she was trying to send it. Oops) and then back to the bar for more drinks. Sadly, our lightweight status was noted.
Fiona curled on Saturday while I watched her first match and then after buying a single raffle ticket, headed off to watch the rugby back in the massive hotel room.
At 1700 I was asked by text if I had bought a raffle ticket. After responding that I had I was grumpily told to come over to the rink with the ticket to collect my winnings - a bottle of whisky. This is on top of an Irish victory. A good afternoon.
We then spent the early evening in the pool and steam room before meeting up in our room for pre dinner drinks. Then dinner, with weird and unsettling conversations about men's tanga pants, and then back to the room for post dinner drinks.
Sunday was tourist day. After a good breakfast we headed around Lock Leven, stopping in at farm stores, nature trails and bird sanctuaries. We even discovered a good full day cycle trip for the summer.
On the drive back we stopped off in North Queensferry to view the bridges. The rail bridge is spectacular but looks oddly narrow. I had never appreciated that before. It is twin trackked but always seemed much broader. When you see it from end on it looks quite narrow.

3 more weeks

After being told at A&E that it should have only taken 2 weeks to recover, after 4 weeks of hobbling around I finally get concerned enough to go back to the doctors about this ankle. Apart from being damned sore and still quite swollen, I can't even walk on uneven surface without going over on it.
After having a look my GP says it will be another 3 weeks at least and possibly as much as 6! He also says that despite A&E saying that using an ice pack after 48 hours after the injury was ineffective, he's suggesting 10-15 minutes 3 times a day. He's also prescribed a 4 weeks course of anti-inflammatories as I can't take ibruprofen for that long.
At least I don't have to go back to hospital or have it in a cast.
This has got to be a sign of aging!
